Ghumar dance
- Ghumar is the state dance of Rajasthan.
- It is performed only by women on Occasion like Marriage, Gangaur festivals, etc.
- It comprises eight special steps, which are called Sawai.
- This form exists in three forms:
- Ghumar
- Loor
- Jhoomariya
- Musical Instrument used:
- Shenai
- Nagara
- Dhol
Kacchi Ghodi dance
- Kacchi Ghodii dance is a popular dance of the Shekhawati region.
- It is performed only by Men.
- Musical Instrument used:
- Chang
Agni/Fire dance
- It is performed by the people of the Jasnath Sect and the Banjara community.
- Maharaja Ganga Singh of Bikaner protected the Agni dance.
Gair dance
- It is performed on the occasion of Holi festivals.
- The Gair dance of the Bhil tribe(men) of the Mewar is popular.
- Musical Instrument used:
- Dhol
- Curved dagger
- Flat metal plate
Terah Tali Dance
- It is performed by the Kamar Sect women (Worshipper of the Lok Devta Ramdev Ji).
- Its origin place is the Padarla Village, Pali.
- The main performer of this dance is Mangai Bai.
- Musical Instrument used:
- Cymbals
- Tanpura(String instrument)
Chari dance
- It is performed by the Gujjar women in the region of Kishangarh.
- The main performer of this dance is Falku Bai of Kishangarh.
Walar dance
- It is the prominent dance of the Garasiya tribe in the region of Sirohi.
- Both the male and female participate in this dance.
- No use of musical Instrument in this dance.
Dhol dance
- It is popular dance of Jalore region.
- It is performed by the men of Dholi, Mali, Bhil, Sargara etc.
Bam dance
- It is a folk dance performed by the men on the occasion of Harvesting time of crops in Alwar, Bharatpur and Dholpur.
- Muscial Instrument used:
- Drum/Bum/Nagar
Bhawai dance
- It is a professional dance in the Udaipur region.
- It was started by Baghoji Jat of Kekari(Ajmer).
Chakri dance
- It is a folk dance of the Kalbeliya people of Kota.
- The main performer of this dance is Gulabo.
Gindar dance
- It is a folk dance of the Shekhawati region.
- It is performed only by the Men.
- Musical Instrument used:
- Nagara(Kettledrum)
Ghurla dance
- It is performed on the day of Sheetalastami in the Marwar region.
- This dance performed by the girls by Keeping lamps in a perforated earthen pot.
Garba dance
- It is the folk dance of the Dungarpur and Banswara region.
- It is performed on the Occasion of Holi.
Chag dance
- It is a folk dance of the Shekhawati region which is done by the men on the Occasion of Holi festival.
Dang dance
- It is performed in the Nathdwara region on the Occasion of Holi festival.
Gawari/Rai dance
- The Bhil tribes of Mewar perform it.
- Gawari represents Goddess Parwati. Lord Shiva is called Puriya.
Shankariya dance
- It is a folk dance of Kalbeliya caste.
- This dance mainly based on the love stories.
Bindoli dance
- It is the folk dance of Jhalawar region which is performed on the occasion of Holi festival.
