Tungsten in Rajasthan

  1. Tungsten is a greyish-white lustrous metal, which is a solid at room temperature.
  2. Use: filaments in light bulbs.
  3. Tungsten is a metal of strategic importance. 
  4. The chief source of Tungsten are wolframite [(Fe,Mn,)WO4], and scheelite (CaWO4).
  1. Deposits ( Rajasthan )
  1. The State has about 23.92 million tonnes of tungsten ore which is about 27% of total country’s resources. 
  2. Important deposits occur near Degana, district Nagaur & near Balda and Uduwaria, district Sirohi. 
  3. Degana & Balda were the only operative mines producing meager quantities of concentrate. However, owing to economic non viability they have been closed down.

Soil in Rajasthan

  1. Red-Yellow Soil
    1. The soil is found in the western parts of Sawai Madhopur, Sirohi, Rajsamand, Udaipur and Bhilwara districts.
  1. Characteristics
    1. This soil is suitable for groundnut and cotton cultivation.
    2. This soil lacks fertile elements.
    3. It is made up of the disintegrated materials of granite, schist and gneiss rocks.
    4. It lacks calcium and nitrogen.
    5. Red and yellow colour of this soil is due to its iron content.
  1. Laterite Soil
    1. It is found in Dungarpur, central and southern part of Udaipur and southern Rajsamand districts. 
    2. This soil is composed of the disintegrated materials of old crystalline and metamorphic rocks.
  1. Characteristics
    1. It lacks nitrogen, phosphorus, humus content etc.
    2. The colour of this soil is red due to the presence of iron content.
    3. Maize, rice and sugarcane are cultivated in this soil.
  1. Mixed Red and Black Soil
    1. It is found in Banswara, eastern Udaipur, Dungarpur, Chittorgarh and Bhilwara districts.
  1. Characteristics
    1. It lacks calcium, nitrogen and phosphorus but contains sufficient potash.
    2. It has a larger proportion of clay.
    3. Cotton, sugarcane, maize etc. are cultivated in this fertile soil.

Cryptocurrency

  1. Cryptocurrency is a digital currency that is implemented using BlockChain Technology.
  2. RBI banned it 2 years before but the Supreme Court overruled the RBI order and directed the Government and RBI to make sound policy for the Cryptocurrency.

Qualification For the Judge of High Court 

Qualification:

  1. He should be a citizen of India
  2. He should have held a judicial office in the territory of india for 10 years; 
    1. Or
      1. He should have been an advocate of the High court(or HC in succession) for 10 years.
  3. The Constitution has not prescribed a minimum age for appointment as a judge of HC.
