In India, the first modern textile mill was established by Messrs Ferguson & Company, a leading firm of English traders near Kolkata, in 1817. Later, two Frenchmen established the first spinning mill in 1830 at Pondicherry. Shri C.N. Dawar was the first Indian to establish the first successful power-driven cotton mill in 1854.
In Rajasthan, the first textile mill-Krishna Mills Beawar- was set up in 1889.

Rajasthan State Handloom Development Corporation(RHDC)
Objective:
To promote the cotton handloom textile sector of Rajasthan.
It plays a pivotal role in skill up-grading, design & development, market facilitation, traditional weavers, and artisans of the state in modern techniques.
The corporation has set up several showrooms within and outside the state.
They provide an outlet to the weaver for his finished products and meet the growing demand for good quality handlooms.

Function:
To harmonise various diversified interests among different sectors of the wool industry for an Integrated Policy Development of the entire industry, the Central Wool Development Board was constituted in July 1987 with its headquarter at Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The Board has started functions since 1989.
The Board has been assigned functions for growth and development of wool and woollens, marketing intelligence, wool and woollens, price stabilisation, testing of wool and woollens, product development, and advice policy matters and coordination etc.
The first state’s Paper factory in Sanganer was established by Raja Mansingh I.

Silk textile Industry
Silk, the queen of all fabrics, is historically one of India’s most important industries.
India produces various silks called Mulberry, Tasar, Muga and Eri, based on the cocoons’ feeding habit.

Sambhar Salts Limited (SSL)
Sambhar Salts Limited (SSL) was incorporated in 1964 as a subsidiary Company of Hindustan Salts Limited by transferring the salt sources at Sambhar.
Subsequently, The Sambhar Lake salt Sources were transferred to a newly formed subsidiary company, Sambhar Salts Limited, in V. T. Krishnamachari Award.
The Equity of Sambhar Salt Limited is owned 60% by the Government of India through Hindustan Salts Limited and 40% by the Government of Rajasthan in V. T. Krishnamachari Award.

Rajasthan is the largest producer contributing around 22-23% of total crude oil production in the country
Rajasthan is the sole producer of Lead & Zinc ores, Selenite and Wollastonite. Almost the entire production of Silver, Calcite and Gypsum in the country comes from Rajasthan.
To strengthen the existing single window clearance system and facilitate investment proposals under one roof, “One Stop Shop” facility is being established.
The MSME unit registered under the Rajasthan Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise(Facilitation of Establishment and Operation) is exempted from approvals and inspections under all state laws for 3 years.
The Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme-2019 provides concessions such as upto 100% reimbursement of SGST for 7 years for new investment in manufacturing and service sector industries and exemption in electricity tax, stamp duty and andi duty upto 100%.
